Dad 2.0 Summit 2013 – Houston, TX

This was one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had. This was my first time at the Dad 2.0 Summit, but it definitely won't be my last! It started out with the Great Dad Cook-off sponsored by ConAgra Foods, which I feel so blessed to have been part of, considering there were so many great finalists. It was nerve wrecking for me having to cook in front of great chefs and food experts like Chef Aaron McCargo Jr. from The Food Network, Today Show's contributor and “Supermarket Guru”, Phil Lempert, and last but not least, Abby Penich, Director of PR and Social Media at ConAgra Foods, but I had such an amazing time. Check out my spaghetti and chef trophy, yeeaa! I was also so honored to have met and compete with such a great group of fellow dads; Jim Higley, Robert Rosenthal, and Chris Lewis, whom all had delicious recipes! Big congrats to Jim for winning first, well deserved! Check out the video of the cook-off!

The next few days were just as awesome as the first. The Dad 2.0 Summit took place in Downtown Houston, TX at The Four Season Hotel, beautiful!

This was a great place to meet a lot of cool dads, network and just to build new relationships with people that share the same goals and interests. I was motivated by hearing the many talented speakers during the conference and it gave me a sense of direction as far as where I want to go with my blog and career. There was so much I  learned at this event, not just about blogging, but entrepreneurship and fatherhood. I even developed a stronger faith through one of the breakout sessions. Most importantly, I got to eat a lot of good food, took home a bunch of free stuff, and got a free hair/shampoo/style; shout out to Marco from The Boardroom! I think this is the gateway to a mani/pedi. I can't wait for the next Dad 2.0 Summit!
